Default And away we go!! 5-6-13

I'm writing this on Sun. night, 5-5, in anticipation (along with 60 of you!) of tomorrow's first winner in the 2013 LeftyFrets Giveaway! I want to clarify some of the rules going forward in advance of the prizes being awarded so there is no confusion and that no one will accuse me of favoritism in any way.

First, I count 34 prizes in this year's giveaway - the most we've ever had, thanks to the generosity of our forum sponsors and our awesome members. Most of the prizes are in my possession, with the exception of:

    1) Fender amp, donated by Vic of Lefty Guitars Only

    2) Case of Martin strings, donated by Jon & Sharon of My Favorite Guitars

    3) Eastwood 12-string electric guitar, donated by Jerry of Jerry's Lefty Guitars

    4) Mandolin strap, donated by Jack Wickes

    5) Acoustic wood set, donated by Richard of Otterhound Guitars and Tonewoods

Secondly, I want to reiterate that each entrant can only win one prize. As in past Giveaways, it will be inevitable that someone who has already won will have one or more of their other numbers show up in the various daily "Pick-3" drawings. Therefore we will go by the following order, should that occur.

    1) The first daily "Pick-3" lottery number that will be checked first, every day, will be from the Georgia lottery as shown here at "mid-day":

    http://www.lotterypost.com/game/42/results

    2) In case that daily number is a duplicate, the next state lottery that I will check will be the New York lottery (in a nod to my friend George Schneider, who had the suggestion for how to set this up 3 years ago in 2010 - thanks, George!). Evidently NY has TWO daily drawings for their "Pick 3", so the 2nd choice for this purpose will be their mid-day drawing. You can see it here:

    http://www.lotterypost.com/results/ny

    3) The next lottery, if needed, will be from the great state of North Carolina (in a nod to my deputy and friend Mark Parchment). Evidently the "Pick 3" number there also has a fourth, double-digit number, so the only numbers we'll use are (obviously) the first 3 as seen in the top category here:

    http://www.nc-educationlottery.org/

    4) In the event we STILL need a winning number for a particular day, we will next visit the mid-day winning number from the "Cash 3" drawing in Tennessee as shown here:

    http://www.tnlottery.com/default2.aspx

    5) Last-but-not-least-department: If we still haven't gotten a daily winner, we will go to the "Cash 3" mid-day number from the Florida lottery as shown here:

    http://flalottery.com/winningNumbers.do

If we don't have a daily winner after viewing FIVE state lotteries, we will roll over to the next day and begin at the top again.

I've updated the Prize List with pictures of some really cool stuff tonight - go look at it here:

    http://leftyfrets.net/showthread.php?t=7544

REMEMBER - when you win you have YOUR CHOICE of ANY prize that is unclaimed! The only prizes that will be held back will be the unclaimed prizes for 1st and 2nd place (as there are 2 choices for each prize).

If you have questions you can post them here or PM me.

    Let's have fun!

Interesting that more than 50% of the entrants will win something .

I was perusing the net last night and found LH guitar tuners. Seriously.

Back to the topic at hand...

A friend who sells cars here is a great player in his own right... unfortunately for him, he plays right handed. (Poor guy... )

He got so excited about the Giveaway last week when we were talking that HE entered! Said if he wins the Breedlove (he got to see it and hear it in my hands last week here) he'll just swap the strings and play it! And then I told him, "No, you don't want to do that. Just sell it and take the money and buy you something that's set up correctly for you." - to which he agreed.

He's not a member here - initials are RC in the "List of Entrants" - but he's just as excited about the noon drawing today as anyone else who is entered!

I saw those initials in the entrants list and couldn't place it with a member. Thanks for solving that mystery! It's cool that even rightys want to get into the act. Maybe it was the sound and build quality of the Breedlove that sold him. I'd think that speaks highly of the guitar.

Oh, and the 'noon' drawing didn't take place till 12:29, and it still hasn't been posted, because I've been sitting here incessantly checking it since 12:29!!!
